Argentina: Barley harvest basically finished with good yields and quality results

Harvest is basically finished in Argentina with good results, both in terms of yields and quality, GrainCom said in their latest newsletter on January 12.

Barley crop size is estimated at 3.4 mln tonnes – the question is how much will be exported as feed barley.

Already more than 500 thousand tonnes of feed barley has been declared for export, and about 350 thousand as malting barley. FAS sales for feed barley reached 400 thousand tonnes, and for malting barley 454 thousand, hence exporters are nominally short physical feed barley against export declarations. Argentina’s export line-up for barley (malting and feed) is growing, the analysts said.
